UOAConnection for April 2011

The UOAConnection for April 2011 is packed full of useful information.

This month we have the ever popular President’s message, an update on social
media, a list of upcoming events and a notice for all chapters to send
delegates to the Annual General Meeting in Saskatoon.

The District Support Services report is from the Prairie District by Sheelah
Zapf who shares some exciting news about her recent appointment.

Our UOAC Ostomy Youth Camp has an important announcement regarding this
year’s camp. And Saskatoon extends a warm invitation to join them in a
Chapter Information Session and Annual General Meeting in August. Ostomy
Toronto is again teasing us with another reason to visit Toronto – the Casa
Loma. Don’t forget to plan to attend the conference in Toronto in 2012!

The Friends of Ostomates Worldwide Canada has been busy – they have a new
website and a new distribution centre.

After many months of planning and organizing, the United Ostomy Association
Inc. is now ready to announce to the world that they have an online
discussion board. Read all the details.

We again remind all ostomates to consider applying for the Disability Tax
Credit that would apply to most ostomates! Ostomy Canada is always looking
for articles – why not send them your story?

Joel Jacobson has a nice message about membership, and getting the word out
that we’re here to help!

Chapter contacts – please feel free to distribute copies of the
UOAConnection to your chapter members by forwarding it on to your email
distribution list or by photocopying and distributing them at your meetings
and functions. Most of this information is applicable to the general
membership, not just chapter presidents!
